Social Prescribing Program

Social Prescribing is about supporting the health and well-being of people by using community-based activities and support.  Like a medication prescription, your doctor is recommending a treatment – social connection!

The program is for you if you feel that you need some support to mind your health and wellbeing or if you feel isolated, stressed, anxious or depressed.  Using resources within the community will help you to benefit from meeting other people or taking part in a new activity !

Food Security

At the Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre, we strive to build food security in our community.  Food security exists when all people, at all times, have access to enough safe and nutritious foods that meet dietary and cultural needs to lead an active and healthy life.

With support from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation Grant, the Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre has 5 raised garden beds on the corner of Francis Street South and Joseph Street, at the front entrance of the Health Centre.  The goal of these beds is to grow produce and educate on urban gardening.
