Waterloo Region Integrated Drugs Strategy

Problematic substance use is affecting people’s lives and our communities. Waterloo Region Integrated Drugs Strategy (WRIDS) is a community change response to this issue and provides a road map of where we want to go – and how we plan to get there.

Its mission is to prevent, reduce or eliminate problematic substance use and its consequences. WRIDS actions include recommendations for change through prevention, rehabilitation, harm reduction and enforcement and justice

WRIDS was developed by the Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council with a 26-member Task Force through evidence based research in consultation with more than 300 citizens across the Region.
