The Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre located at 44 Francis Street South, Kitchener is a warming/cooling station. We provide space for the public to get temporary relief from heat or cold, during regular business hours.
Note that Warming and Cooling Centres are intended to provide temporary relief from heat and cold and are not available for extended stays. For additional supports for individuals experiencing homelessness, please reference the pocket card on the Emergency Shelters and Transitional Housing webpage. The pocket card provides a list of locations and contact details for shelters, drop-in and street outreach services across the region.

Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre Hours
- Monday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Tuesday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Wednesday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm
- Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Everyone entering the Health Centre will:
- Self screen for Covid symptoms.
- Be required to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer to clean their hands when meeting with a health care provider. If you are not able to wear a mask, you will be seen outside.

I.D. Clinic identification pickup is open. Call 519-745-4404 ext. 207 to schedule an appointment to apply for ID.
If you would prefer a phone/video appointment, we will try our best to accommodate you.
When you arrive at the Health Centre please expect:
1. You will be expected to wash your hands.
2. You will be expected to physically distance by staying 2 metres or 6 feet away from the person next to you.
3. At this time we are providing each person that enters the facility with a fresh Level 3 mask to wear while at the Health Centre.

From time to time, the organization sends emails to patients/clients to obtain feed back on client experience at the centre or regarding its services and programs. Patients or clients of our Health Centre will never receive a request via email or text from the Health Centre that asks them to provide personal health information such as their health card number, or any detailed financial information, passwords etc. We would never ask you to send or transfer funds to the organization or via the Health Centre to another destination. If you receive such an email from KDCHC or Sanctuary please do not respond to it, delete it and contact the centre at 519-745-4404 and ask to speak to the Privacy Officer.Wa
